I finaly open the box of my SDO, and before setting it, I installed the modcase from HandhelDIY. It's really easy to do that: unscrew the stock backplate, remove it, install the new one with the thermal pads (do not forget), screw it and it's ready to go!! I LOVE the transparent black!! In games, the thermals are truly reduced to compare to what I see on YT for the same games. In hands you can feel that the SD is getting warm, but a very, very low warm. And I play with the settings pushed to the max I can!! It's perfect!! I hope that they will do the same for the LeGO!!
My Deck went from "hand warmer" to "actually comfortable" overnight. The smoked black version looks tactical without being edgy. Kickstand's perfect for quick inventory management sessions. Only missing feature? RGB lighting... but maybe next version!
The cooling works way better than I expected
It fits my Steam Deck perfectly, 100% no issues with the fit at all. The added cooling effect is amazing it really does keep the device much cooler during intense gaming sessions!
